There are people on the internet bragging about ordering Christmas pajamas for their kids.

It’s still June, people. Christmas is in July.

The boys are spending time with their dad’s family further south. It’s been eleven nights of lonely, with eleven to go… We’ve shed our fair share of tears over the separation, but in the end, we’re all okay. It’s important that they spend time with all of their family and it’s, equally, important that I have a chance to relax and take a break every now and then.

Since they’ve been gone, I’ve been able to lend some time to friendships that otherwise get neglected, I’ve purged their toys, and I’ve read a few books without interruption. Good things.

I tossed a load of laundry into the washer last night at 10PM, because I’d otherwise have to wear my least favorite underwear and dirty wrinkled dress pants to work. I woke up with just enough time to mostly dry those clothes before heading out the door

Summer schedules make me lazy. The boys get to sleep in and I relish the extra time to myself every morning… which leads to a rush and a hurried shuffle out the door to get to work on time.
But did I mention that I have every other Friday off through the summer, and oh, how that pleases me!

Ever since we moved back into my parents’ house, I’ve wrestled with the wireless router. The other day I finally gave up and decided to win the battle once and for all… I bought a new one.

Those trees I wrote about? The ones that have roots dug deep into the red clay in my parents’ backyard? Well, I find it quite hilarious that not a day or two after posting that my mom announced that three of those trees would be cut down.

We tossed grass seed this weekend, in hopes that green grass will cover the mud and the weeds now that the sun reaches into the yard. I kid you not.

Such is life, I suppose.

I’ve been here lately. Where have you been?

(just write: 141)

  1. Sometimes what we know and trust needs to be dug up before something new, and possibly better, can grow. The sun can now reach you.

  2. On June 25, someone in my office DARED to utter the phrase “six months ’til Christmas!!” so I killed her… (in my head, of course!!)
LOVE your writing… Keep it coming!!
    MUCH LOVE from Ohiooooo!
